The Hangout was created to give adolescents living with a rare disease called cystinosis a place to learn about navigating the world on their own as adults.

Living into adulthood with cystinosis used to be a long shot. Now, with new treatments, the outlook is so much brighter.

At the Hangout, kids can get prepared for going off to college, moving into an apartment, dating, etc. It’s a place where they can learn how to “adult” on their own terms.
